Privacy Policy

1. Overview

Yuny ("we", "our", or "the Service") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and your rights regarding that data.

2. Data We Collect

When you use Yuny, we collect:

  • Discord profile data — your Discord user ID, username, and avatar URL, provided when you authenticate via Discord OAuth
  • Gaming preferences — platforms you play on, favorite games, and your preferred play style ("vibe"), which you provide during onboarding
  • Session data — records of gaming sessions you participate in, including which game was played, when, and who else participated
  • Conversation history — messages exchanged with the Yuny AI companion within session Discord threads (limited to the last 40 messages per session)
  • Payment data — if you subscribe to Yuny Pro, payment is handled entirely by Stripe. We store only your Stripe customer ID and subscription status — never your card details
  • Usage data — session counts, request timestamps, and basic app interaction logs for service improvement

3. How We Use Your Data

We use your data to:

  • Match you with other players based on game and vibe preferences
  • Provision and manage Discord channels for your sessions
  • Power the Yuny AI companion within your sessions
  • Enforce subscription limits (free tier: 5 sessions/month)
  • Improve matching quality and app performance
  • Communicate service updates if necessary

We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising.

4. Third-Party Services

Yuny relies on the following third-party services, each with their own privacy policies:

  • Supabase — our database and authentication provider. Your data is stored on Supabase-managed PostgreSQL servers. See Supabase Privacy Policy.
  • Discord — we use Discord for authentication and as the venue for gaming sessions. See Discord Privacy Policy.
  • Stripe — payment processing for Pro subscriptions. See Stripe Privacy Policy.
  • OpenRouter — we route AI requests through OpenRouter to power the in-session gaming companion. Messages sent to the AI may be processed by their infrastructure.

5. Data Retention

We retain your profile data and session history for as long as your account is active. AI conversation history is capped at 40 messages per session thread and is not retained beyond the session context.

If you request account deletion, we will remove your profile, session membership records, and any personally identifying data within 30 days.

6. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten")
  • Object to certain processing of your data
  • Data portability (receive your data in a machine-readable format)

7. Children's Privacy

Yuny is not intended for users under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe we have inadvertently collected data from a child, contact us immediately.

8. Security

We use industry-standard security practices including encrypted connections (HTTPS), row-level security on our database, and service-role key restrictions. However, no system is completely secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will update the "last updated" date at the top and, for material changes, notify active users via the Yuny Discord server.
